Kappa Kookout

The event provides free backpacks and school supplies to students and families in need while promoting access to educational resources. Kappa League Showcase
The Phoenix Metropolitan Kappa League Scholarship & Awards Showcase is an annual celebration recognizing the perseverance, leadership, and achievements of young men in the Kappa League program. Each year, the event highlights students who have overcome challenges, embraced purpose, and demonstrated excellence in academics, athletics, and community service.
The Showcase provides a platform to honor their hard work, inspire their peers, and invest in the next generation of changemakers. It embodies the Kappa League’s mission to develop well-rounded, confident, and principled young men who are prepared to break barriers and build legacies.
2025 Kappa Kookout
Who’s still feeling the energy from last year? The Phoenix (AZ) Alumni Chapter Kappa Kookout was a celebration like no other—Nupe pride was on full display, the vibes were high, and the basketball game brought the heat!
The event showcased brotherhood, community, and competition, with the Gamma Iota Chapter bringing the trophy back to ASU. Beyond the excitement, the Kookout was about giving back—uniting Nupes, friends, and families in support of the community.
From strolling to high-energy games, great food, and unforgettable memories, the Kappa Kookout captures the spirit of the Desert Nupes: strong, proud, and always moving forward. Each year builds on the last, and the Phoenix Alumni Chapter is already planning something even bigger for next year!
2025 BackPac Giveaway
The Phoenix Alumni Chapter’s Backpack Giveaway is an annual community service initiative designed to equip students and families with the tools they need to start the school year prepared and confident. From the first backpack to the last smile, the mission is simple: serve the people.
In a single powerful day, the event has impacted over 3,800 community members, distributing more than 2,800 backpacks, gifting 75 iPads, and providing hundreds of free haircuts, braiding services, meals, and resources. The Backpack Giveaway is more than just a giveaway—it’s a celebration of unity, service, and community in motion, bringing together volunteers, families, and the Phoenix Alumni Chapter to uplift the village and invest in the next generation.
